RPAH

I have completed my tests and now working on the clinicals. My break lasted a record breaking total of two days. Yes, two days.

My brain has not really had a chance to rest at all. I guess that the appealing 2 year USYD Masters had a catch to it which I had not even considered ; we don't get any breaks except for public holidays.

Despite me saying that I'll be practicing in the morning, I am doing afternoon shifts which last from 1pm-9pm. It gets pretty scary at night on the way home because its the holiday season and lots of thugs are out there.

I have been assigned the plastics ward. There I see patients with wounds, missing limbs and lots of trauma. Today I got to see a patient with a giant hole in his leg. It was really visually explicit as it was more exposing than seeing a naked man; I got to see inside a man.

Apart from that and doing some basic obs, the day was boring. Being placed in the afternoon meant not much action occurring and the nature of the ward itself was just calm and serene. Silence made up most of the atmosphere in the ward, and I often found myself sitting at the table twiddling my thumbs.

Hopefully more action will arrive so I can actually learn more from experiences.

I nearly forgot to mention that since Rianne left, I have been able to meet lots of close friends. I will be continuing on that another time though because I am exhausted.
